How Capitalism Works in Different Scenarios Coursework

How Capitalism Works in Different Scenarios - Coursework Example As per Hagopian free enterprise is a social association which is presently knowledgeable about each nation. In this kind of association, implies that are utilized for creation are possessed by a minority bunch in the public arena (industrialist class). The remainder of the populace needs to sell their work in return for compensation/wage (regular workers). Not at all like the socialist type of association where a general public has no classes, in free enterprise class division assumes a significant job. Free enterprise is best clarified by Karl Marx who says an industrialist society has two principle classes; the individuals who have (own the methods for creation) and the individuals who have not. There might be the presence of different classes in the public arena yet the two are considered as the significant ones. As indicated by Marx the individuals who have are enamored with misusing the individuals who don't have subsequently struggle will consistently exist between the two clas ses. This is the thing that frames an industrialist society and that is the means by which it operates.Capitalism is the method of creation that is utilized in our contemporary social orders. In numerous social orders today you will discover the presence of the two fundamental classes. Misuse comes about when the free enterprise class utilizes the common laborers to their advantage. This is on the grounds that as much as the common laborers is the one dealing with the ground the general benefits acknowledged go to the free enterprise class. Costs paid by entrepreneurs in the creation procedure, for example, pay rates are excessively low when contrasted with the benefits figured it out. These benefits are then put resources into request to produce more benefits, prompting further riches collection. At the point when the average workers gets worn out they will bring about an upset lastly, the general public will go into a condition of socialism. At this stage, nobody claims anything a nd Marx states that the procedure will rehash itself.Blaut (127) clarifies the historical backdrop of free enterprise by first telling the individuals the transitional discussion history. Effectiveness in the Business World Political Development

Question: Discuss about the Effectiveness in the Business World for Political Development. Answer: Political Factor: Political aspects have many significant influences on the petroleum industry. This industry is one of the key players around the globe. Control of hydrocarbons allows the government to provide concessions to different companies. This aspect provides exclusive rights to production and exploration of oil within a certain geographical area at a specific time space. Only because of this aspect the government provides facility to the national oil companies rather than the foreign oil companies. Geopolitical and internal political risks may block the upstream investment within many countries (Binder and La Palombara, 2015). This kind of instability changes the environment. This environment is following a set of regulatory aspects: nationalization of property, civil conflicts and strikes or acts of war. These aspects are very common for the oil enriched company. All of these political aspects possess negative effect to the value creation of all oil companies. The Middle East has always disc ouraged the foreign investments (McChesney, 2015). No major oil companies are interested to invest their money to Iraq due to political disturbances. Technological Factors: Technological aspect is one of the external factors which drive the oil and gas industry, because the research and technological aspect plays vital role for addressing the energy needs and challenges of the world. An innovative and improving aspect of the technology provides the way of recovering oil and gas by providing new machineries and processes (Taddei et al., 2014). This aspect also provides the ways for omitting the exhausted processes for extracting oil. This aspect increases the profitability and gains the existing oilfields. Technological improvements has have made the exploration possible for making ultra-deep water reservoir. Brazilian shore is one of the examples of oil fields. Except this, Petro Bras was nominated for developing the new technologies. Development of advanced technologies becomes the competitive advantage of oil and gas field (Titus et al,. 2013). Week: 3 Title of News: FTSE loses 30 billion dollar in value on Brexit fears Date Published: Thursday 16 June 2016 Industry: Source: https://news.sky.com/story/ftse-loses-16330bn-in-value-on-brexit-fears-10313933 Concept/ Model Applied: Internal and External Influences Discussion: Internal Influences: Perceptions: The issue related to Brexit causes significant losses in the European Stock market. The government of Britain hadnt any particular desire to leave EU but Britain faced many problems between prosperity and stability (Lee and Burton, 2015). EU analyzed that, there will be losses in the sector of pensions, and savings, jobs, and share market as well. After Britain exited from the association there were introduced some clashes of thoughts between the left out countries of EU and Britain. Attitudes: According to the continuing research it is found that, UK was dominating the entire job market of the EU, this created so many problems within EU such as unemployment problem. In another way, UK can make itself high trading country by establishing the rules and regulation according to their needs. Statistical survey shows that, most of the goods are exported to non-EU countries an earned 147.9 billion dollar, which is hampered for leaving UK form EU (Jhannsdttir and Jnasson, 2014). Learning: Learning is another important internal influence while measuring the situation. It is noted that, conservative voters are divided for the issues for Brexit, Liberal, and labour, whereas the SNP voters are strongly pro-Europe (Henriques and Richardson, 2013). The minority of voters wanted to stay in the EU. This aspect t delivered a majority of votes for separation. External influence: Culture and subculture: This is one of the external influencing factors which determine the condition of any business environment. After the Britain segregates itself from the association majority of voters decided to change their country and leave EU. The social, political, economic and environmental condition attracts people for leaving the EU. Most of the people were voting against the ruling class of the EU (Gold et al., 2013). This aspect increased the nationalism, which were not the accurate demands of the people. Social class: The death of social mobility happens due to the decision of UK to vote for leaving the UK referendum. Several issues like immigration, governance; bureaucracy was introduced due to the class war between the residents of EU referendums. Week: 4 Title of News: FTSE loses 30 billion dollar in value on Brexit fears Date Published: Thursday 16 June 2016 Industry: Source: https://news.sky.com/story/ftse-loses-16330bn-in-value-on-brexit-fears-10313933 Concept/ Model Applied: Supplier power and Competitive Rivalry Discussion: Porters Five Forces: Supplier power: Brexit made the business practices more difficult in UK. Europe is one of the best synchronized countries, which helps EU to face more challenges in the global market. No other country can really solve these problems like UK. All the countries of EU have to renegotiate the contracts for this event of Brexit. This aspects leads to the removal of the customers from the business market of EU (Dobbs, 2014). This aspect made huge amount of loss for the EU. Considering the manpower UK also provides it most of the time to the EU. So in this case the supplier power is high for the countries of EU. Competitive rivalry: In the case of Britain their competitive rivalry is reduced with respect to the evolving market situation. The country is not only economically stable but also technologically developed. UK has signed one agreement with Iceland, Norway and Lichtenstein, which establishes homogeneous and dynamic European economic area for it. This shows that two separate regulatory bodies will applied to these countries parallel with EEA (Magretta, 2013). Another aspect which shows the competitive rivalry between UK and EU were the series of bilateral trade agreements that was allowing the partial access to the single market (Mavimbela and Dube, 2016).Another competitive advantage of the country is that Britain is already aware of the weak and strong situations with EU referendums, so it is too much easy for the country to capture the market. Week: 5 Title of News: FTSE loses 30 billion dollar in value on Brexit fears Date Published: Thursday 16 June 2016 Industry: Source: https://news.sky.com/story/ftse-loses-16330bn-in-value-on-brexit-fears-10313933 Concept/ Model Applied: Triple bottom line model Discussion: Profit: Profit is considered as the net amount gained by any organization after the deduction of input costs involved and adding the capital introduced into the process. This aspect is taken as the fundamental economic benefit. One of the frightening threats to the EU was that trade barriers thrown by UK and Europe could prevent UK while being used as a suitable dramatization post for EU development (Henriques and Richardson, 2013).According to the policies set up by Britain they noted that their wealth is not getting distributed properly within their residents. They took a step to be separate from the EU referendum just to establish their own regulations and policies within the country. People: Another sustainability factor is people or more elaborately man power and workforce. Workforce has a great impact on the sustainability of any organization or business environment. Previously the EU referendum handles their entire business events in a collaborative way but after the separation of Britain man power was reduced by huge amount. Britain not only provides the financial and technological support to the EU referendum but also helps the association to bring their man power to certain high limit for development of the business activities of the association (Onat et al., 2014). Planet: The term planet is known as sustainable environmental practices. Sustainable business environment is required for the development of the business practices. Sustainability refers to good positioning aspect. The separation of UK from the EU triggered political confusion between both the major parties of UK. The prime minister resigned. There was a situation for choosing the powerful person who will take over the authority. Week: 7 Title of News: FTSE loses 30 billion dollar in value on Brexit fears Date Published: Thursday 16 June 2016 Industry: Source: https://news.sky.com/story/ftse-loses-16330bn-in-value-on-brexit-fears-10313933 Concept/ Model Applied: Major drivers of globalization Discussion: There are several drivers available affecting the business practices. Two crucial drivers affecting the Brexit issue are described below: Deregulated markets: Deregulated market is described by a market which is disturbed by several internal and external factors. EU referendum was one of the effective and economically stable associations which operates almost huge amount of business practices (Gold et al., 2013). But because of the separation of Britain FTSE faces a loss around 30 billion dollar. This is only due to the deregulated market all over the EU referendum. The value of pounds was lowered by 0.85% against the values of dollar on Tuesday. This aspect continued up to 8 weeks. Most of the investors were running just because of their safety. Most effective example on this issue is: 10 years old German bunds went negative for the first time in history, which shows that the investors are involved with only Germany and finishing their relation with other countries of EU referendum (Binder and La Palombara, 2015). Market drivers: There are several market drivers for empowering the business environment. The effective market drivers for Brexit issue are: population density, sustainability of mindset, independent lifestyle. The countries involved in the EU referendum are facing problems due to excessive population, which was causing improper distribution of wealth among the residents (Titus et al., 2013). Britain had developed a mind set for being separated from the EU referendum. This different mindset was driving the internal situation of the EU referendum. Independent lifestyle leads the association to be separated, as each country of this referendum wants to develop their own policies. References Binder, L. and La Palombara, J. Research Paper on Teaching Methods Essay Teaching Method is the process of interaction between teacher and students, which results in the transfer and assimilation of knowledge and skills stipulated by the plan of education. Roman Achievements essays

Roman Achievements essays Where would the world be today without the founding of the Roman Household and the idea of paterfamilias, advances in science and medicine, and the many changes in Christianity and marriage practices? It is hard to imagine what our society would be like without a head of the household, medicine for illness, science for technology, and Christianity along with marriage practices. The Romans made many advances in science and medicine. Archimedes of Syracuse founded the formulas of spheres and cylinders, the actual number of pi which is used mostly for a circles circumference, as well as other discoveries in astronomy and engineering (Osheim and Roberts 138). Archimedes also invented the water snail which was a screw like device to raise water for irrigation...which made it possible to irrigate previously barren land (Osheim and Roberts 138). The idea of astronomy first came from advances in mathematics (Osheim and Roberts 138). The Romans used to believe that the sun revolved around the earth, when in 275 B.C., Aristarchus of Samos made the hypothesis that the earth really revolves around the sun, and then in 135 B.C., Hipparchus of Nicaea proved this hypothesis correct (Osheim and Roberts 138). Many other medical advances were made around this time, such as cross-fertilization and the first dissection of a human. The scientists would practice dissecting on criminals that were condemned to death (Osheim and Roberts 138). One of the leading scientific beneficiaries was Herophilus of Chalcedon, a practicing physician in Alexandria, for he found that the brain was the center of the nervous system, as well as the first dissection of the human, and the discovery of the ovaries (Osheim and Roberts 139). Scientific discoveries helped the army with technology. They were able to build engines and bombs for war, ways of transportation, and many other industrial wonders. ...

Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar Disorder Essay The phenomenon of bipolar affective disorder has been a mystery since the 16th century. History has shown that this affliction can appear in almost anyone. Even the great painter Vincent Van Gogh is believed to have had Bipolar Disorder Essay. It is clear that in our society many people live with bipolar disorder; however, despite the abundance of people suffering from the it, we are still waiting for definite explanations for the causes and cure. The one fact of which we are painfully aware is that bipolar disorder severely undermines its victims ability to obtain and maintain social and occupational success. Because bipolar disorder has such debilitating symptoms, it is imperative that we remain vigilant in the quest for explanations of its causes and treatment.Affective disorders are characterized by a smorgasbord of symptoms that can be broken into manic and depressive episodes. The depressive episodes are characterized by intense feelings of sadness and despair that can become feelings of hopelessness and helplessness. Some of the symptoms of a depressive episode include anhedonia, disturbances in sleep and appetite, psycomoter retardation, loss of energy, feelings of worthlessness, guilt, difficulty thinking, indecision, and recurrent thoughts of death and suicide (Hollandsworth, Jr. 1990 ). The manic episodes are characterized by elevated or irritable mood, increased energy, decreased need for sleep, poor judgment and insight, and often reckless or irresponsible behavior (Hollandsworth, Jr. 1990 ). Bipolar affective disorder affects approximately one percent of the population (approximately three million people) in the United States. It is presented by both males and females. Bipolar disorder involves episodes of mania and depression. These episodes may alternate with profound depressions characterized by a pervasive sadness, almost inability to move, hopelessness, and disturbances in appetite, sleep, in concentrations and driving.Bipolar disorder is diagnosed if an episode of mania occurs whether depression has been diagnosed or not (Goodwin, Guze, 1989, p 11). Most commonly, individuals with manic episodes experience a period of depression. Symptoms include elated, expansive, or irritable mood, hyperactivity, pressure of speech, flight of ideas, inflated self esteem, decreased need for sleep, distractibility, and excessive involvement in reckless activities (Hollandsworth, Jr. 1990 ). Rarest symptoms were periods of loss of all interest and retardation or agitation (Weisman, 1991).As the National Depressive and Manic Depressive Association (MDMDA) has demonstrated, bipolar disorder can create substantial developmental delays, marital and family disruptions, occupational setbacks, and financial disasters. This devastating disease causes disruptions of families, loss of jobs and millions of dollars in cost to society. Many times bipolar patients report that the depressions are longer and increase in frequency as the individual ages. Many times bipolar states and psychotic states are misdiagnosed as schizophrenia. Speech patterns help distinguish between the two disorders (Lish, 1994).The onset of Bipolar disorder usually occurs between the ages of 20 and 30 years of age, with a second peak in the mid-forties for women. A typical bipolar patient may experience eight to ten episodes in their lifetime. However, those who have rapid cycling may experience more episodes of mania and depression that succeed each other without a period of remission (DSM III-R). The three stages of mania begin with hypomania, in which patients report that they are energetic, extroverted and assertive (Hirschfeld, 1995). The hypomania state has led observers to feel that bipolar patients are ;addicted; to their mania. Hypomania progresses into mania and the transition is marked by loss of judgment (Hirschfeld, 1995). Often, euphoric grandiose characteristics are displayed, and paranoid or irritable characteristics begin to manifest. The third stage of mania is evident when the patient experiences delusions with often paranoid themes. Speech is generally rapid and hyperactive behavior manifests sometimes associated with violence (Hirschfeld, 1995). READ: Englands Greatest Poet And Playwright Was Born At Essay When both manic and depressive symptoms occur at the same time it is called a mixed episode. Those afflicted are a special risk because there is a combination of hopelessness, agitation, and anxiety that makes them feel like they ;could jump out of their skin;(Hirschfeld, 1995). Up to 50% of all patients with mania have a mixture of depressed moods. Patients report feeling dysphoric, depressed, and unhappy; yet, they exhibit the energy associated with mania. Rapid cycling mania is another presentation of bipolar disorder. Mania may be present with four or .

Toward a Praxis Theory of Suffering by Janice Morse Article

Toward a Praxis Theory of Suffering by Janice Morse - Article Example According to the author, there are two major behavioral states such as enduring (in which emotions are suppressed; it is manifested as an emotionless state) and emotional suffering (an overt state of distress in which emotions are released). Every individual who are suffering move back and forth between these two states based on their own needs, their acceptance of events, the context, and the needs and responses of others. The article has been important to me because it helped me realize the implications for the provision of comfort during the various states of suffering. "Nurses are the caretakers of suffering. Understanding suffering and the responses and needs of those who are suffering rests squarely on the shoulders of nurses, and easing and alleviating suffering is the heart of nursing. Nurses are at the bedside throughout the course of illness, and they are often the only support for those suffering, both patients and their families." (Morse, 2001). Therefore, understanding t he behavioral-experiential nature of suffering has a vital role in the practice of nursing and it helps one in offering the most comforting service to the patient who is suffering as well as the family which is affected. In conclusion, â€Å"Toward a Praxis Theory of Suffering† by Janice Morse has been one of the most fundamental articles which contribute to the effective nursing practice and one realizes the implications for the provision of comfort during suffering states.

Inter-Organizational Relationships Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 3000 words

Inter-Organizational Relationships - Assignment Example This proposed dissertation explores the feasible ways by which organizations with the interlocking relationships of the global economy can best respond to the challenges posed by increased business competition and complexity. It will focus on human resource management, which has assumed a new dimension because of the presence of a third party organization that can exercise control over employees of another firm. The paper will propose that in the multi-employer environment of business globalization, the best-fit or best practice objectives of HRM can be achieved by incorporating the inherent advantages of franchising in a company's HR strategies, especially in the matter of pay and reward. The present-day challenge of human resource development is to design HR practices that fit with the new business requirements or, in the words of Mohmann & Lawler (1999), to formulate practices that fit into a "dynamic, unpredictable corporation with a myriad of approaches to getting the work done." In this concern, the franchising sector provides a microcosm of the difficulties being encountered by the human resource department in working out innovative assessment systems that will demonstrate their influence over the company's bottom lines, which are profitability and shareholder value (Becker, et al., 2001). The reason is that franchise holders, especially those engaged in the sale and servicing of cars, have as many third-party partners as the existing number of automotive manufacturers who all demand a voice in deciding the franchisee's HRM practices (Swart, et al., 2002). Franchising in effect typifies the inter-organizational dependency involving human resource management and the attendant dilemma on how the HR department of a franchisee firm can implement a strategic pay-and-reward system that promotes its long-term interest without alienating its network partners. Curran & Stanworth (1983) define franchising as "a business form essentially consisting of an organization with a market-tested product or service maintaining a contractual relationship with another organization to sell the brand." In general, franchisees are self-financed and independently owned and managed small firms operating under the franchiser's brand name to produce or market goods or services according to a format specified by the franchiser. Because of the subsequent growth of this sector, the franchising outlet was later redefined as "a legally separate business entity with its own capital base, set of employees, organizational structure and specific customer relations (Stanworth & Curran, 2003)," which indicate that franchisees have become analytically independent of their franchisers. On franchising as growth sector, Floyd & Fenwick (2003) note that this business sector now accounts for over one-third of retail sales in the US and 29 percent of those in UK, thus claiming a huge proportion of the workforce of either country. Conservation of Biodiversity in Cambodia Essay -- Biodiversity Cambodi

Assessment of Conservation of Biodiversity in Cambodia 1. Introduction Conservation of Biodiversity in Cambodia has been gathering momentum in the past few years in response to international conservation efforts and increased land degradation and loss (Conservation International 2004). International monetary institutions such as the World Bank and transnational NGOs such as Conservation International have been influential in changing forestry legislation in Cambodia (Reuters 2002). However, the implementation of these laws and practices are not always as successfully carried out or adhered to on a local level (Reuters 2002). The flaws in implementation may eventually lead to the degradation of the biodiversity in question. The corrupt nature of the Cambodian government and the dependency of growing populations on the resource extraction of these areas to supplement their incomes work together to prevent sustainable conservation efforts. The Central Cardamom Mountain region is the major focus of current conservation efforts and provides a portrait of contemporary environmental policy and practice in Cambodia. The Cardamom region is part of the Indo-Burma hot spot (Environment News Service 2002). The Cardamom region and the two wildlife refuges that border it collectively make up one million hectares of contiguous forest (Conservation International 2004). The area was previously protected by the Khmer Rouge who used it as a refuge until the end of their civil war in the early 1990's (McCarthy 2002). They used devices such as landmines and boobytraps to exclude others from entering (McCarthy 2002). How to reflate France’s economy Essay

Introduction There are two different ways to help France’s economy get back on track. They are austerity and growth. Austerity programs consist in a set of policies established by governments in financial debt difficulties. These policies aim to reduce spending for public goods and services. (Example in France, with president Sarkozy, approximately 150.000 civil servants were fired, this decreased the amount of money used to pay civil servants in France, which in turn, made it possible to run the country without having to borrow as much money). Growth programs consist in increasing the GDP and spending money, to reflate the economy. Of course this money has to come from somewhere, so growth programs often include imposing a lot of taxes. (Example in France, with president Hollande, taxes were imposed on bank profits, and taxes on the richest part of the population were increased). Economists are very divided on this subject, and both of theoretically work; it depends of the situation we are in. Economic Program Austerity is a short term solution only; a country’s economy cannot rely on it forever. This is why as a president; it would be good to start by making the debt of France smaller, then using this to our advantage, and Firstly, we have to make France more competitive. To do this, we will change the work time of the French, and their minimum age of retirement. Today, the French work on a minimum basis of 35 hours per week, and retire at a minimum age of 60. To make France more competitive, we will change these to 40 hours, and an age of 64. The average life span keeps on rising thanks to better health care; it would only go well for the economy if people were to work a few years more, because there would be less to pay for people who work. The 40 hours will be payed the same, because if there were the same amount of workers in a company but all of them had to be payed more, the company in question would either lose money in paying them, or fire a part of them. To increase competitivity, we have to make the price of production in France lower, so that fewer companies send their production in China for example. To do so, we have to lower the national insurance contribution payed by the employer to pay his workers in France. Products that are made in France will therefore be more expensive because the workers are payed in France than in China for example. To counter this, we will add a tax on products (depending on the price of the product) made in countries that have very cheap labor. (China, Vietnam, Turkey, Thailand, etc†¦) This will bring part of the production back to France, and the loss of money in the lowering of the national insurance contribution will be compensated by the tax. Next, we will reduce the salaries of the ministers and the president. The salaries of the ministers is now of 9940 euros (Under president Hollande), which will be reduced by 30%, leaving them with 6660 euros per month. The salary of the president is now of 14 910 euros (Under president Hollande); it will be reduced by 40%, leaving the president with 8950 euros per month. We would also stop having mayors in every single city, and do like in the U.S.A, which is to instate a governor for each department. This governor would be in charge of all the cities in his department, and when a decision is to be made, 20 inhabitants of the department will be called, to hold a â€Å"committee† and make the decision. It will be a duty, which means the inhabitants will have to go. This will help the economy, as there will be only one person to pay per department, and not dozens of mayors, it also gives a â€Å"voice† to the citizens in decision making. There are many people who are unemployed in France (10%) and receive unemployment benefit for a very long time, without trying to find work. As this does not motivate them to find one because they receive money without doing anything, we will keep on giving this unemployment benefit, but only for 2 months, the time for them to find work. This reform will motivate them to find work, this way they will be productive, therefore helping a company or industry to grow, and money will not be wasted. This change will of course also make unemployment decrease. Small companies are very important to the economy, as they might end up as the next multinationals, but they are heavily taxed, which makes them very hard for them to grow. If we make these taxes smaller, people would be encouraged to start their own companies, and this will create employment. Small companies that are already created will grow faster, and will create jobs, which will make the company itself more productive. These jobs will be there for the population receiving unemployment benefit. There will be a loss if we just relieve taxes on small companies, so we will compensate this by taxing bigger companies, which have already emerged, because they will not be affected by a tax as much as a small company. (The tax in question will not be too strong; it will just be enough to compensate for the loss in the tax relief on smaller companies) Education is a very important part of the French economy. Schools are here to â€Å"train† the future generations of workers. Access to education is free today in France, but the quality of this education is sometimes questionable. Firstly, there are not enough professors in the schools. It is logical that if there were to be one professor for 25 students, the quality of the education they would receive would be better than today, where we have in average one professor for 30 students. To compensate this lack of professors in schools, we will create 12000 jobs for professors in school; this will make the student/professor ratio smaller, which will increase the quality of the education received. To become a professor, you have to be â€Å"trained† two years in a university. This is not enough, considering the disciplinary problems in some schools. Professors should have 3 years of complete training, which would include a deeper disciplinary course, teaching methods, etc†¦ The principal sectors of production of France are agriculture, energy, tourism, trade and industry (France is one of the first industrial powers worldwide). Mass market retailing is choking the sector of trade, as it attracts the clients of little traders and makes mass profit out of it; it also allows itself to buy products at very low prices from producers (Farmers in the case of a supermarket). To resolve this problem, we would add a tax on products bought in mass market retailing services, which would bring clients back to the little traders, so that they don’t die out. Little trades do not buy products as low priced as supermarkets do, which would make money for producers. In the case of a supermarket, the trade and agriculture sector would both benefit from this tax. A French household produces in average 16.4 tons of Co2 every year; this is far too much. To avoid this, and preserve the environment, a tax will be imposed on households that end the year with more than 16 tons; of course this number will decrease every year to improve the given results. Renewable energies provide 13% of the electricity needed in France, nuclear energy provides 76% and fossil fuels provide 11%. We would invest in research for renewable energies (Hydro-energy, wind energy, solar energy), and close down the most risky nuclear reactors. (For example the 4 reactors in Blayais, Braud-et-Saint-Louis, which are not very productive and are very old and unsafe). Conclusion As a president, I would go towards austerity first, to reduce the debt of France, and to have more possibilities in my actions later. France is already in a dangerous situation, and going into a politic of growth would be spending too much money that we don’t have (Which is why I chose austerity as a short term solution), and it would be too much, France would go into a recession. After a period of austerity (Which means: after having reduced the debt), I would have gone in a politic of growth, which would have thrown France’s economy back on track.

Earning a Masters Degree in Health Administration 2019

Health care is the largest industry in the country, providing close to fifteen million jobs. It is an industry that will continue to grow as our population grows both larger and older. Among the universe of health care workers, management and pure administrative personnel are a relatively small segment. That ratio is going to change somewhat, as more health care in this country becomes public health care due to the rising cost of health insurance and the reduction of employee benefits in American business. Nevertheless, the pure administrative positions in health care comprise less than ten percent of the total jobs in the field. There are some interesting trends emerging in the private sector that indicate the need for administrative personnel in the field is rising, and will continue to do so. Because of the reluctance of insurance companies to pay for hospitalization, outpatient care has become more predominant. So, while health care providers are struggling to keep their hospital beds full, at the same time they are diversifying their facilities. Hospitals are laying off mid-level management personnel as outlying clinics are opening their doors and hiring managers. From a U.S. Labor Department report on health care employment:In some management, business, and financial operations occupations, rapid growth will be tempered by restructuring to reduce administrative costs and streamline operations. Office automation and other technological changes will slow employment growth in office and administrative support occupations; but because the employment base is large, replacement needs will continueIn many cases, it may be easier for jobseekers with health-specific training to obtain jobs and advanceSpecialized clinical training is a requirement for many jobs in health care an d is an asset even for many administrative jobs that do not specifically require it. All of this suggests that a masters degree in health care administration will have notable employment value. It suggests further that people who have had some specific medical background prior to pursuing a management role will be in sharp demand. That suggests that if youre in the service or technical end of the medical industry, a return to school might be well worth considering. .u33972036600d2c9a781704049fa5d9ea { padding:0px; margin: 0; padding-top:1em!important; padding-bottom:1em!important; width:100%; display: block; font-weight:bold; background-color:#eaeaea; border:0!important; border-left:4px solid #34495E!important; box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -moz-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -o-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -webkit-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); text-decoration:none; } .u33972036600d2c9a781704049fa5d9ea:active, .u33972036600d2c9a781704049fa5d9ea:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; text-decoration:none; } .u33972036600d2c9a781704049fa5d9ea { transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; } .u33972036600d2c9a781704049fa5d9ea .ctaText { font-weight:bold; color:inherit; text-decoration:none; font-size: 16px; } .u33972036600d2c9a781704049fa5d9ea .post Title { color:#000000; text-decoration: underline!important; font-size: 16px; } .u33972036600d2c9a781704049fa5d9ea:hover .postTitle { text-decoration: underline!important; } READ Online RN to BSN Program Forensic Psychiatric Nurses Serve a Vital Role in the Criminal Justice SystemIf youre working, online colleges are the best way to go about pursuing that masters. Holdens Depression and Self-Doubt in Salingers Catcher...

As Eugene McNamara stated in his essay â€Å"Holden Caulfield as Novelist†, Holden, of J.D. Salinger’s novel Catcher in the Rye, had met with long strand of betrayals since he left Pencey Prep. These disappointments led him through the adult world with increasing feelings of depression and self-doubt, leading, finally to his mental breakdown. Holden’s first betrayal was that of his memory and innocence by an egotistical peer. At Pencey Prep, he roomed with a student named Stradlater; the epitome of a teenage jock. Stradlater was openly very vain; as Holden stated as he watched Stradlater gaze at himself in the mirror, â€Å"he was madly in love with himself. He thought he was the handsomest guy in the Western Hemisphere† (27). Because of his†¦show more content†¦Now here was Stradlater who could not even remember her proper name! It was a great show of disrespect for Holden’s memory of this bubbly, kind girl; it was a betrayal of his innoce nt heart and childhood memories. Holden’s disappointingly cold experience with sex and prostitution after he leaves Stradlater and Pencey Prep is a betrayal of his childish dreams of greatness and celebrity. As he enters the elevator of a New York City hotel, the elevator boy asks him if he wants a good time. Holden agrees, as he is â€Å"starting to feel pretty sexy and all† (92), being his first official chance to live up to his dreams of sexiness and manliness. His mind even starts to wander to his grand fantasy of â€Å"Caulfield and His Magic Violin† (93) in which he is the most adored man in all the world. He never, however, lives up to any of these egotistical illusions. His disappointment comes knocking at the door in the form of a young girl named Sunny. The minute she undresses, Holden feels odd and uncomfortable. He â€Å"know[s] that you’re supposed to feel pretty sexy when somebody gets up and pulls their dress over their head† (95), b ut he just felt embarrassed for her. His ego and dreams come crashing down, as his night is not of good times and achievement, but of a too young girl who is as nervous as he. It was quite depressing for him to realize that the adult world was made up not of the movie-like dreams he had entertained for so long, but of timid, depressing reality.Show MoreRelatedCatcher In The Rye Character Analysis940 Words   |  4 PagesIn chapter ten of J.D. Salinger’s, Catcher in the Rye, there are three important concepts: loneliness, depression, and idealism. Holden evinces these concepts when he talks about his younger sister, goes to the Lavender room, and mentions Radio City Music Hall. Each of these concepts builds upon each other, especially the idea that Holden is lonely. Holden is alone once he arrives in New York after leaving Pencey Prep. With reference to several specific moments in the play, explain how you would perform the role of Masha Free Essays

The part of Masha is a female who starts at the age of 21 and in act3 aged 35.Her clothes are in the colour black so we learn from this she is a melancholy and mysterious character. She is the middle sister out of the three and is married to Kulygin. We will write a custom essay sample on With reference to several specific moments in the play, explain how you would perform the role of Masha or any similar topic only for you Order Now Kulygin is a high school teacher. She starts by reading a book, whilst whistling. This gives the immediate impression she is quite solemn and subdued. She then says a quote which she repeats later in the play. â€Å"By a curving shore stands a green oak trees, Bound with the golden chain †¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦Bound with the golden chain†¦.'† Her character seems down at the point because she feels trapped in her marriage to Kulygin. She married him at a young age of 18 and thought he was quite a wise clever man but now she feels stuck in her relationship with him. We learn this later in the play, but at the moment, the character of Masha is dull and unenthusiastic. I would act the part as if I was uninterested in my surroundings and what is going on. I would act unfocused towards the fact it is my sister’s name day and I would be indulged in my own pity. She feels trapped in her marriage to him, and is depressed by the reality of life, that she is stuck in this marriage, and in Moscow. I would say lines quite pessimistically and would move around the stage slowly and with my head slightly tilted up as in to be looking to the heavens for help. This would show the audience I am unhappy, and am feeling low. The audience would learn I am unhappy, and would learn soon that it is from my surroundings by which I feel this. Masha does not mind showing her emotions, so I would not hold back my feelings whilst saying my lines and acting in general. The audience would learn straight away that Masha is sad and unhappy with her life. Also is act1, we find out Masha’s thoughts of Protopopov. â€Å"I can’t stand Protopopov†¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦You shouldn’t invite him.† I would say this line with quite passion, as Masha’s character seems quite open with what she thinks. I would seem quite angered at the thought of him. Also, because Masha is already in a bad mood, the mention of some one who she doesn’t like upsets her more than usually. I would show this if I was playing the part. This shows the audience she is quite a good judge of character as she later on learns about the affair he is having with Natalya, her brother’s to-be wife. They also learn a lot from Masha’s derelict that she is to the point and honest with her thoughts. When the part of Veshinin enters, I would make a dramatic change in Masha’s tone of voice, and presence on stage. This is because Veshinin is from Moscow, so the 3 sisters are automatically drawn to him. Also, Masha is interested in Veshinin as more than a friend from the beginning, and I would portray this from the moment he walks on stage. We learn this when she becomes excited by having a conversation with Veshinin about Moscow. â€Å"The both laugh delightedly. Masha (animatedly) Ah, I remember!†¦..† I would act this very animated as it says in the directions, and be intrigued about learning about Veshinin. I would forget about the others on stage around me, especially my husband, and stay interested in Veshinin. My face would now be lifted, and focused on Veshinin, my eyes widely opened and a smile on my face. All three sisters have an obsession with Moscow and this would come across in her keenness towards Veshinin. The audience would see that Veshinin’s entrance has changed Masha’s feelings. They have changed from feeling depressed and down to animated and awake. She emphasises this point when she says: â€Å"I’ll stay for lunch.† I would say this line quite abruptly as I want everyone to know I am staying. Also it shows the audience how strong my interest is in Veshinin. The audience would also see me take my hat off, which emphasises the fact I’m staying. Near the end of the act she tells Kulygin she is not going. When he asks why she says: â€Å"Oh right, I’ll ho. Just leave me alone, please.† I would say this line whilst not looking at Kulygin, to show that I don’t care about him. I will say it with no animation on my face and would be getting cross with him. I feel he is a burden to me so I show this by getting annoyed with him. My tone of voice would sound aggressive and angered, and I would be speaking a little louder than usually. I would pause between saying â€Å"alone† and â€Å"please†, to emphasise the please. This would also so my frustration with him to the audience. This tells the audience Kulygin doesn’t interest Masha any more, and she no longer is in love with him. At the end of act1 she repeats the quote: â€Å"By curving shore stands a green oak tree, bound with a golden chain†¦Ã¢â‚¬ Masha is about to be leaving and going back to her house with her husband whom she does not love any more. I would show this by looking depressed and saying this line quite slowly and be thinking of a better life for me as Masha. In act2, Masha is on stage with Veshinin. They are alone, talking about how unhappy they both are. Masha says â€Å"†¦terribly learned, clever and important, so I thought. And now I don’t†¦Ã¢â‚¬ I would say this so Veshinin would feel sorry for me and know that I am welcome for something to happen between the two of us. I would look into his eyes when I talk which would show the audience I love him, and look coldly when I talk of my husband so he knows I don’t have any feelings towards Kulygin any more. This shows the audience Masha is interested in Veshinin but doesn’t want any one to hear to see, as this conversation takes place in the dinning room of the Prozorov’s house. Later on in this conversation Veshinin tells Masha he loves her. When he kisses her hand she moves as she knows what she is doing is wrong. When he says it, she says: â€Å"When you speak like that, I laugh, I don’t know why†¦..† If I was playing Masha, I would make my face look brighter, and I would star into his eyes lovingly. Because of her character, I feel she is the type who cannot hide her true emotions, so at this precise moment of intensity between the two of them, she probably wouldn’t care what she looked like. The audience would see the love Masha feels for Veshinin through how she looks at him. When Veshinin leaves during the act, Masha becomes aggressive. â€Å"Oh, get away! Stop pestering me, leave me in peace†¦.† As I mentioned earlier, her character is quite open with her emotions. Because Veshinin, has left Masha is now upset and angered. I would say this line very snappy and loudly as my whole frame of mind has moved from love to anger. The tone of my voice would have completely changed. They would now be shorter and snappier. This is so the audience can see Masha is upset with Veshinin’s exit. When Masha enters Olga and Irina’s room during act3, after Veshinin’s speech about how wonder he feel life is, her and Veshinin echo each others line: â€Å"Tram-tam-tam†¦Ã¢â‚¬ But this part in the play, Veshinin and Masha both like one another, and this small conversation is a special language they are speaking to each other. Masha is very happy as Veshinin is present in the room, and that he loves her back. From her entrance, I would play the part as if I am happy, quite dreamy, calmly. I would act quite excited as I would be having this secret language with the man I love, but no one else in the room knows what we are talking about. The audience would see the secret verbal affair going on, and would see how no one knows anything is going on. After Veshinin exit’s Masha becomes bored, and low again. â€Å"†¦I’m so very, very bored!..† And then she brings up how her brother Andrei is in dept from his gambling problem. Due to Veshinins’s exit, Masha focuses on the bad parts of her life again. I would start saying the lines now to the point, and as if I don’t care who hears. She is bored now as Veshinin has now left, and so she feels depressed now, and as she is depressed she is thinking of depressing things. I would tell them about Andrei’s gambling problem quite bluntly. This would show the audience the effect Veshinin’s presence has on Masha. A little later on in the act, after Kulygin has exited, she confesses to her sisters about her love to Veshinin. â€Å"I’ve a confession to make†¦.I can’t keep it any longer†¦.† I would say this conversation with a huge passion as Masha is very in love with Veshinin, and so even talking about him would excite her. I feel she wants something to happen and so coming clean with it to her sisters may hopefully mean that something good may come of it, but this is not so. It’s the first bit of happiness any of the 3 sisters have had since they have moved away from Moscow, and that is a reason why this short conversation with Olga and Masha is very important to Mashas part in the play. She is the only 1 out of the 3 sisters who experiences true happiness during the duration of the play. The fact that she is actually in love with someone, and for them to love her back, is extraordinary to them. Ironically, Masha is the only one who cannot move back to Moscow, as she is married to Kulygin, who works in the school in the are they live in now. This upsets Masha more, and is another reason why her love for Veshinin is so important, because it is the only happiness she has had since she has moved. But the reality kicks in when they hear someone approaching the room. She has to now go back to her husband who she doesn’t love and pretend she hasn’t shared any of this information with her sisters. I would now act solemn and upset again, as once again, I, as Masha, would have to be putting up with sharing my life with a man who I do not love. The audience would see how much Masha loves Veshinin by the passion in her voice and actions when telling her sisters about her feelings. In Act4, it is time for Veshinin to say good bye, as this is the day when all the soldiers are leaving. The atmosphere on stage during this act is a lot calmer than the other 3, as everyone on stage knows the stage in their lives with the soldiers it is nearly over. How to cite With reference to several specific moments in the play, explain how you would perform the role of Masha, Papers

Beowulf2 Essay Example For Students

Beowulf2 Essay Beowulf was written in the eighth century by an unknown author. The story is centered on Beowulf, the main character, who is able to use his super-human physical strength and courage to put his people before himself. He encounters hideous monsters but never fears the threat of death. Beowulf is the ultimate hero who risks his life countless times for immortal glory and for the good of others. Another fictional hero who possessed these qualities is He-Man, a nineteen eighties cartoon super hero. Their backgrounds, their trusted friends, and their super human strength make them epic heroes of their time. The quality that makes them heroes is the deep respect and responsibility he had for his people. His grand father King Hrethel raised Beowulf. Beowulf matured according to the appropriate expectations of royalty. His maturity drove him to test his strengths and abilities to the limit. He had to prove to himself and others that he is of heroic success. Beowulf goes to Denmark to prove his heroism. Like Beowulf, He-Man came from a royal family. When He-Man was not of super natural strength, he was known as Prince Adam of Eternia. He too had royal respect and responsibilities for his kingdom. When Prince Adam turns into He-Man, he would have incredible strength that would help him defend his universe. Both heroes take on the responsibility of fighting for the good of the people. Heroes at times may need a little help. In Beowulfs case, he used an aid of a sword to help defeat Grendels mother. In the battle of the dragon, Wiglaf along with other thanes try to help Beowulf. However when the fight seems to turn against Beowulf, all of the thanes fled except for Wiglaf. In the poem, Wiglaf was more than just someone helping Beowulf, he wholeheartedly demonstrated his loyalty for his lord and was willing to sacrifice his life for him. For He-Man, he used his magical sword to help him throughout all of his battles. But his most trusted friend and pet was Battle Cat. Battle Cat was a huge muscular cat with a saddle upon him that He-Man can ride on. Battle Cat stood by He-Man in every battle. Their trusty swords and their faithful companions helped both heroes conquer their enemies. The most overwhelming proof that Beowulf and He-Man have in common in is their superhuman attributes. Beowulf battles Grendel, with no armor and no sword. With his sheer heroic strength, he is able to rip and tear Grendels arm off his socket. Then Beowulf swims down to fight Grendels mother. Being under water for so long is evidence that he is supernatural. An ordinary man can not hold his breath for more than a minute, let alone an entire day. He-Man has many superhuman qualities as well. In every episode, He-Man would use his strength, speed, and magical powers to sabotage the evil nemesis Skeletors plot to conquer Eternia. Both Beowulf and He-Man used superior and super natural strength against their enemies that contributed to their success. Whether the hero was from an eight century epic poem or a nineteen eighties cartoon series, both had similar traits of upbringings and stature. They set a noble example of relying on the necessity of brotherhood and friendship. Their bravery and strengths surpassed that of mortal men. Their unselfish loyalty makes them revered by all. Beowulf and He-Man are prime examples of epic heroes. Bibliography:

Be Careful About Careless Writing

Be Careful About Careless Writing Be Careful About Careless Writing Be Careful About Careless Writing By Mark Nichol Just the other day, I received an email from my dear friend Mary Fox, who begged me for assistance from afar. The warning lights came on one by one. In the first paragraph, she apologized for not letting me know about her â€Å"journey to Scotland . . . because it was a short notice from my business associate.† She went on to explain, â€Å"I have lost my wallet and other significant Document.† Then she wrote, â€Å"I will be glad if you can render some help in other to settle the outstanding debt of the hotel and other miscellaneous expenses. Please send the money to the following details of mine.† Mark, you ask me, how could you befriend anyone who is such an atrocious and affected writer? The answer: I can’t. My introductory paragraph was spurious. I don’t know anybody named Mary Fox. You’ve probably received a scam letter like this before, perhaps purportedly from someone you actually know. Many people have. And some of them, Lord knows how, fall for it. I blame the publishing establishment. (Stay with me here.) How is it that people can succumb to this pathetic con? Don’t they notice the stilted language obviously not the prose of someone raised speaking and writing English? Do they excuse it by reasoning that Ms. Fox wrote so awfully because she’s emotionally distraught? The problem is, we’re inured to poor writing. We see it all the time online, of course, but also in newspapers and magazines, even in books. The prose of writers with only a tenuous grasp of the basics of English composition is often published with little or no professional mediation, and so we get used to it. And like lumpen proles seduced by propaganda, we can’t recognize a con job when it punches us in the face. The day before dear Mary Fox implored me to come to her assistance, I received, by email, a PDF of a letter that began, â€Å"Congratulations to you as we bring to your notice, the results of the First Category draws of E-MAIL LOTTERY organized by the Canadian Government in conjunction with South Africa government (SA).† Whoo! I was told, â€Å"Please note that your lucky winning number falls within our Afro representative office in (South Africa) as indicated in your electronic play coupon.† Later references were made to â€Å"our Africa agent† and â€Å"our Africa Agent.† (I presume, from the previous quoted sentence, that this person is identifiable by their Afro.) Anyone who fails to note the nearly illiterate writing and falls victim to this scam or similar ones deserves what they get (or, more appropriately, doesn’t deserve what they get taken away from them), but I’m serious when I say that lax standards in publishing contribute to a diminishment of critical-thinking skills among the public. Misinformation and deception are of course often couched in elegant or at least competent language, but the publishing industry does us a disservice by abandoning its traditional role as a provider of exemplary literature and other prose. Many publications and publishers proudly uphold this role, but too many others sacrifice quality for expediency, and the world is a poorer place for it. (And some people are literally poorer for it.) Oh, speaking of poor, don’t worry about poor Ms. Mary Fox: I’m sending her the money she requested, because I won the lottery! Postscript: So that this post lives up to the DailyWritingTips.com mission, I offer these tips: When you receive a written message purporting to be from a friend or a valid institution, make sure the writing quality is appropriate for the source and make no excuses.
